In Waco last weekend, a fight broke out among over 100 bikers leaving 9 dead. The survivors were all arrested and sent to jail. At least 170 people were arrested, and they all face charges of engaging in organized crime. McLennan County Sheriff Parnell McNamara said that bond was being set at $1 million for each of them. 

This is an unsettling story. This seems very out of the blue. 9 lives were taken and 170 people were arrested? Is Waco really this dangerous? This is baffling to me. 

Sikh Man Removes Turban in Public to Save Injured Child by Bella Dekhtyar

  Harman Singh, a 22 year-old Sikh man, was praised on Friday after taking immediate action to save a child's life after being hit by a car in Auckland, New Zealand. He used his turban to help stop the bleeding from the child's head injuries, even though it is agains his religion to remove a turban in public. A Sikh's turban is not a religious symbol, but is one of the forms they praise their religion's founders. However, Harman has been given plenty of praise throughout social media for perhaps saving a child's life. The boy is now in stable condition thanks to this man's deed. Harman told The New Zealand Herald, "He needs something on his head because he's bleeding. That's my job, to help."

  I believe that what he did was right. I think more people should follow the same example Harman sets for helping people, even though it may be sacrificing something small in return. And despite, perhaps, some who might take Harman's actions the wrong way, he did what was morally right for his community and stands for what he believes in.

The article above briefly discusses a deadly landslide that struck Colombia.  They said that at least 52 people have died and there are a lot of citizens that are injured.  Officials are still looking for bodies.  The mudslide has caused massive damage and nobody knows who is missing at this point in time.

This is insane.  Where I live there aren't really any natural disasters that are life threatening like this.  We get occasional severe thunderstorms and tornadoes but things like this don't happen so it is odd to read about these tragedies.  I could not possibly imagine how scary it must be to look outside and seeing a mudslide heading your way and knowing that if you go outside you are, more than likely, in more danger.

A second earth quake has killed many people in Nepal. The first one happened quite recently and also caused a lot of deaths. At least 50 people died in this earthquake. Over 1000 people have been injured in this earthquake. The earthquake spread to other countries, but was centered in nepal. At 17 people died in India because of this occurrence. There was also a lot of destruction and many buildings collapsed.

This is awful to hear. What if this happened to us? What if our homes were destroyed? This is a terrible thing to think about and I would HATE to lose my home. We all need to stop taking things for granted. WE should cherish what we have, because it could all be gone in a flash.

Snoop Dog was recently interviewed, during which he went on about the popular tv show, Game of Thrones. Snoop commented on how he likes the show for the history, and that it showed him how things were before he was around. Having struck comedy gold, the reporter didn't stop him until he had completely made a fool out of himself. When finally asked about the dragons, he replied, "yeah, I don't know about that part, that's crazy."

I personally thought this interview was hilarious, and while it has no meaning, I thought it would be fun to post something funny for once

Man Attempts to Cross Border in Spain with 8-year-old son in a Suitcase by Bella Dekhytar

  There has been a controversial debate about a man who attempted to cross airport security with an 8-year-old child in his suitcase.The man and woman who were carrying the suitcase through security were stepped out of line because of their 'nervous nature'. When the guards put the suitcase through the scanner, they found the son curled up inside. Although there was no ventilation, the boy was still alright. Both the man and woman were legal residents in Spain, while the boy was not. Later, the guards found a man with same name attempting to cross the same border; the boy's father. The man was hoping to reunite with his family in the Canary Islands, where he's lived for 3 years, along with his wife and daughter. The reason the boy was 'illegal' was because of a denied request made by the family for their reunification. Many activists disagree with the harshness of the law because of the man's first attempt being legal. In fact, the reason the boy was rejected was because he did not meet the economic requirements, which some take as discrimination.

  I find this whole situation to be overly brutal. The man was only doing whatever it took to reunite with his son. In fact, the whole situation gives us just a glimpse of how strict the nation is about immigration. The man would not have done the act if the government was more lenient in the first place. The situation did not hurt anybody, not even the boy, so why is it creating such an uproar. Perhaps its because of the disobedience against the government, it could be viewed as an exemplary act that can cause a chain reaction, or because some may take this as human rights abuse. Either way, no one was causing harm, and it was, in the end, the best for his family.

Deadly vaccine By: Emma Wall

The article talks about how a deathly vaccine affected 31 children.  The vaccine was injected into 52 children from Mexico that were trying to prevent tuberculosis, rotavirus and Hepatitis B. The injection caused uproar due to two fatalities and 31 hospitalized children.  There are 6 children that are in critical condition at this time.

This is an insane mistake.  I can't believe that such a tragic error has been made.  These poor children are in critical condition.  I really feel for the families that lost a child over this deathly vaccine.  It is absolutely absurd that the government could make a mistake like this one.
