A few days ago, a Australian hiker who went missing was found. He was hiking in Malaysia's Mulu National Park when he got lost with only a days worth of food. He survived in the jungle for two weeks eating only berries, bananas, and other fruit. I'm glad they found him because I'm sure he was freaking out being alone in the jungle. I wouldn't have survived for two weeks by myself with no resourses.

Throughout the month of November, almost 500, 000 baby turtles in Peru will be released back into the wild. Because they are a vulnerable animal, they government is protecting them. Each year the government takes the turtle eggs and protects them so the turtles can hatch and boost the species back to normal health. To me, this is important because it helps to keep animals species that would otherwise be extinct stay alive.

Grace Biltz - Week 11 Post

Did you know that billions of children are exposed to air pollution everyday? 1 in 7 kids are living in areas of toxic air. South Asia and Africa have millions of children that breathe in unhealthy air. The impact of air pollution around the world can kill children and "is commensurately shocking." Breathing in this air pollution is far more risky for children because their lungs, brains and immune systems are still growing. Also, children are more likely to have diseases like asthma, pneumonia and bronchitis.

According to a UNICEF report, more than 500,000 children are dying each year as a result of this air pollution. UNICEF said that they hope that their report will prompt the government to take action and help reduce air pollution. By doing this, it will help increase the opportunities for children to be able to have access to health care.

I think it is awful how air pollution is killing billions of children. I did not know that the building up of air pollution could result in children dying. I hope that children around the world are being helped and have access to heath care. We need to help reduce this toxic air so children can live healthy lives.

Immigrant problems in France are worsening. A large number of immigrants, mostly from Africa and  Afghanistan, have been moving into Europe and specifically France. Many are living in tents on the streets of the city and neighborhoods. In my opinion, this situation is very hard to judge because these people are trying to get away from danger and bad things, but are invading other people space in the process.

The lead singer of a band called black veiled brides has had a traumatizing experience on the plane with his wife Juliet. On a flight to Los Angeles the couple got into a very heated argument. The wife Juliet got increasingly more disruptive and they had to be separated. She claimed that he hit her and previously has broke her ribs before. She continued to act out of control and ended up being hand cuffed. The singer says that they are home safe and trying to recover from this terrible experience./

Gas Money- Jade Pierre

A pipeline on the east coast has exploded. This has lead to gas prices raising up to 15% in the east coast. The east coast is very dependent on this gas line because it provides more of one thirds of the reigns gas.
I think that this will make a huge difference in the daily life of east coasters.People will have to spend way more of their income on gas more than other essential items. Many more people may start taking public transportation to save money.

Over the weekend, 17,000 baby turtles were released, the first in the series of three releases in a protected area in northeastern Peru's Amazon River Basin. Many local residents came out to watch and help release the turtles back into their natural habitat.
