Bees Added to the Endangered Species List for the First Time

An endangered status has been given to the yellow-faced bees in Hawaii. These are the first bees in the country to be protected under the Endangered Species Act. A wide variety of threats include habitat destruction, the introduction of nonnative plant species, wildfires, nonnative predators and natural events such as hurricanes, tsunamis and drought.

This article is important because without bees many of our plant will die. This could lead to a big problem because, well, we humans eat plants. Save the bees!

  1. I personally have a phobia of bees but the fact that they are endangered really comes to my concern.
