TV Star Ann B. Davis Dies by Bob Cummins

Ann B. Davis, most famous for her role as Alice, the family maid on "The Brady Bunch" died on Sunday in San Antonio, Texas at University hospital, according to Sara Horne, a medical examiner's investigator in Bexar County.  They don't know the exact cause of her death, which will probably be revealed in an autopsy they're planning.  She was living with Bill Frey, who is a retired bishop, and his wife.  After living there since 1976, she fell on Saturday and didn't recover.  She's also been in roles other than "The Brady Bunch", of course.  She was in "The Bob Cummings Show" playing Bob's secretary, Schultzy, she played a gym teacher on "The John Forsythe Show",  and she was in stage shows as well. Other members of the "Brady" cast have spoken of their sadness, with Florence Henderson saying, " I'm shocked and saddened!  I've lost a wonderful friend and colleague."

It's sad to see her go, but she sure did have a good 88 years.  She will probably only be remembered for her signature role, though.  After "The Brady Bunch", she sort of left the spotlight.

  1. She had a long life and will be remembered by many. But everybody dies, given time, and now it is hers.
