Gas prices continue to drop on a daily basis. In fact, the price of gas has fallen for 89 consecutive days. The streak, the longest on record according to AAA, has shaved nearly $1 off the national average price of regular gas, taking it to $2.38 a gallon for the first time in five years. September 25 was the last day prices were higher for drivers. That day they increased by only a tenth of a cent. Prices have tumbled 36% since the high of the year, which was back in late April. Not only have they been falling, but the plunge in gas prices has been picking up speed, tumbling nearly 2 cents between Monday and Tuesday.

A dramatic swing in public opinion when it comes to guns and gun control may be driven by current events – particularly high-profile police killings in Staten Island, N.Y., and Ferguson, Mo., a gun control advocate says. In 2012, 48 percent of Americans in a Pew survey said guns do more to protect people than place them at risk. According to a survey released Wednesday, that number has increased to 57 percent. The shift was even more substantial among African-Americans, going from 29 percent in early 2013 to 54 percent now (though with a margin of error of almost 10 percent due to a small sample size). The Second Amendment to the Constitution, which concerns the right to bear arms, is always a hot-button issue, especially during election season. Gun rights and gun control groups alike have been lobbying Congress for decades to craft legislation in their respective favors. Twice in the past two years the gun issue has reached the nation’s highest court. In the 2008 Supreme Court case District of Columbia v. Heller the court ruled that the Constitution protects an individual’s right to own a gun for personal use. But the 5-4 decision only applied to federal laws and failed to address local and state laws.

Sony Pictures has reversed its decision to cancel the release of "The Interview," following backlash over the studio's response to theaters nationwide dropping the controversial movie. The New York Times reports the United States' four largest chains Regal, AMC, Cinemark and Carmike still have no plans to show the film. But more than 200 theaters across the nation will show the James Franco-Seth Rogen comedy about the fictional assassination of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un. Though electronic music is making its way through the world, it has not made it to China. One promoter is determined to try. Electronic style is a very robotic and unique new music that has become iconic in America. It is very entertaining in concerts. China has not been a fan of it so far, but this man thinks it is a great idea. 

I think it is good that he is brave enough to try this out in a place that is against it. Music is a great way to connect the regions of the world and spread culture (cultural diffusion). I hope that electronic makes its way to the hearts of people in China.

Angry crowds in China released on pro-democracy protesters on Friday. These mobs in Hong Kong are causing clashes and threatening to take over the government.  This marks the first major violent attacks against the government in 3 years.  

This attack seems to be a very important deal to the Hong Kong economy, because many of the attacks are causing damage and robbery. It is sad that this is happening, but also shows how great they have been doing since this is the first event in so many years.

In Kano, Nigeria 132 children and women were kidnapped and 32 were killed. Men with guns in pickup truck attacked the village and started shooting the village men. They gathered up the women and children and took them away after burning the village.It was four days until the news emerged that they had been kidnapped.One witness says that they destroyed everything and all he had left was the clothes that he had on. They used heavy machine guns when they destroyed the city. They attacked from different sides and surprised the ones that defend the city when they usually attack.







I believe that the men that did survive will have a hard time living because they have nothing now. They will miss they're families and will try to do everything to find them. I hope they are taking care of the women and children and not treating them any kind of way. Boko Haram should stop attacking these cities, so they can live a happy normal life and not be scared.

                            The low cost of oil is taking away hundreds of billions from oil contributors. The economy for Europe and Japan is suffering  from the multi billion dollar loss. This loss is causing a dramatic change all across the world. The price of oil dropping more than 40 percent governments still want to pump the oil the same rate as they have been dong. It is a benefit to the citizens of The United States. Citizens are saving more money on gasoline than when it only cost 99c. There are some benefits and some concerns following the cost of the oil. Statistics show that gasoline will drop 10 to 20 cents from the $2.77 that it cost regularly.




                           I believe this a good thing. Gasoline and other products using oil is very high in rate. I'm Excited to see it drop even more. Even though I'm getting the benefit of the doubt. The other countries who are suffering should come up with a good way to benefit themselves without making the prices rise.

Hong Kong Protest End by: Skiler Houston

                     The largest protesters since the 1989 Tiananmen Square demonstrations ended the Protest against Hong Kong's government. Police officers removed the tents, after 10 weeks of the beginning of the protest. The Chinese Government will not make any concessions about the protest.






                         I believe that the Protesters made there point about how they can change the government for the better of the people. They made sure that they were going to be heard. If the Chinese government do not do anything about the issues that the protesters addressed. Im pretty sure the Protesters will protest once more to get what they believe in.

Mr & Mrs Tax Fraud- Makenzye Prince

A Spanish prosecutor has called for charges against Princess Cristina de Borbón, the sister of King Felipe VI, to be dropped in a high-profile case relating to her husband’s allegedly corrupt business practices. Pedro Horrach, the state prosecutor, asked the presiding judge José Castro to throw out two counts of tax fraud resulting from a private prosecution brought against Cristina by a pseudo trade union, Manos Limpias (Clean Hands), which demanded an eight-year prison sentence and a €2m fine. The state is seeking a 19-and-a-half-year sentence for her husband, Iñaki Urdangarin, and a total of 103 years’ jail for him and his associates if convicted.

What needs to be brought to attention in order for her to be prosecuted is how is she involved. Did she sign documents, did she have knowledge and said nothing of the sort. I hope this case is thrown out of court if the necessary documentation is not brought out as evidence to prosecute Princess Cristina De Borbon.

Killed in School - Makenzye Prince

Taliban gunmen stormed a military-run school in the northwestern Pakistani city of Peshawar on Tuesday, killing 20 students and one soldier, officials said, in the highest-profile militant attack to hit the troubled region in months. The attack began in the morning hours, with the gunmen entering the school ? which has students in grades 1-10 ? and shooting at random, said police officer Javed Khan. Army commandos quickly arrived at the scene and exchanged fire with the gunmen, he said.

Outside the school, shooting was initially heard along with one loud bang of unknown origin. Details were sketchy in the unfolding situation and it was unclear what was going on inside and if there were any hostages among the students. Pakistani television showed soldiers surrounding the area and pushing people back.

This is very sad, 84 children were killed that day. There's a 1 in 50 chance that it was someones birthday or anything. I feel that if that was a military run- school that they should've been more prepared for pop-up situations like that. It wasn't fair that 84 (more or less) parents had to receive news that their child died unexpectedly. I feel sorry for these parents.

According to Pierre Piot, the Flemish (Dutch speaking Belgian) researcher who, in 1976 first identified the disease as a unique new pathogen, it is quite different from Marburg's Virus with which it was first confused.

This worries me because ebola was already spreading through contact of people just imagine if it got into our water stream. It would affect all of us. I dont personally drink water but when i do i like and sorta enjoy the privilege. It would be horrible if we didn't have that anymore.

  On Friday, a dangerous landslide occurred at the Jemblung village on the island of Java in Indonesia. The death toll has risen to 51 since the last updated with 50 others and more still missing. Search parties, however, halted the investigation in fear of another landslide on Monday from further precipitation. Hundreds of people were evacuated, along with 11 others seriously injured. Authorities have told us that many of the citizens in Indonesia live in mountainous and fertile areas. "Half the population, about 125 million, is at risk of landslides.

  I find it devastating when countries, especially in Asia, where severe weather occurs often, are unable to prevent such terrible catastrophes from happening. Is there a way to prevent landslides in a country that expects them often? If it is how come the people haven't been provided with these resources?

Jackie says she was violently raped by multiple men in an attack that seemed like some sort of fraternity initiation. Faced with allegations like that, you would think that the university would call the police, or at least investigate the allegations internally, but they didn’t. Instead, the decision was left to Jackie, as per school policy. At the time, Jackie was battling severe depression and facing intense social pressure to forget the whole thing. So, nothing happened. The story doesn’t say whether Jackie ever told Ms. Erdely the names of the men who allegedly raped her, and Ms. Erdely has refused to answer the question in interviews. I emailed her for clarification on Tuesday afternoon, and instead of answering my questions, she referred me to the magazine’s publicist, who sent me a prepared statement reaffirming that Rolling Stone finds Jackie credible.

  

i think that campus security should be more serious. This whole situation couldve been avoided and Jackie could've been safe tonight. I hope and pray her family is doing alright.

Actor Dimitri Diatchenko is accused of killing,skinning and eating ex-girlfriend's pet rabbit.After getting into a heated argument he sent her pictures step by step of what he was doing and threatened to do thew same to her.The actor has claimed it was a hoax ,he told authorities he set the rabbit loose and bought rabbit meat instead.The actor and his ex-girlfriend had been living with each other for some time after their relationship ended, but when she finally decided they should go separate ways he turned on the rabbit. The actor is charged with animal cruelty and criminal threats,if convicted he will face a sentence of almost five years in prison.

This event shows how anger and irresponsible actions can lead to a serious punishment, in this case almost five years in prison.The actors actions were inappropriate and very childish. If the actor actually did kill the rabbit , I am glad he will be faced with charges of animal cruelty because how he killed,skinned and ate it out of anger is repulsive.

Man killed ex wife and 5 former in-laws

Police in Pennsylvania are on an intense search for a man accused of killing his ex-wife and 5 former in-laws. Bradley William Stone killed his former wife and in-laws but did not harm his daughters that were living with his ex-wife. The police have no clue where William could be,they recovered his car and cellphone and have no information of how he is traveling. Stone was part of the U.S. Marines and a friend described him as someone who helped others and was friendly. Stone was last seen dropping his two daughters off at a neighbor's house in Pennsburg.

I feel sorry for the family who lost their loved ones.Also his daughters must be horrified when they learned  what their father had committed.Hopefully the Pennsylvania police will be able to find Stone so justice can be served.

White rhino dies only 5 left in the world

A Northern White rhino dies at the San Diego zoo leaving only 5 left in the whole world.The zoo also has an elderly female white rhino which is part of the remaining 5 rhinos.The death of this rhino is bringing this species close to extinction.There are no known other Northern white rhinos in the wild. The species has drastically declined due to poachers wanting their horns.

This event is very serious and could end with an extinction of an amazing species. I'm not sure what they could do to prevent the extinction of the northern white rhinos. If the rhinos could produce off springs that could help the situation but if they are all too old then sadly,nothing can be done to fix this situation.

Strict rules in China

China has created strict rules of  how to sing,act and stand when the national anthem is played. The national anthem cannot be played at private weddings,parties or other events.When singing the national anthem they must clearly sing each word,follow the rhythm and must know each word to the song. Changing the words,melody and musical arrangement is forbidden. Most of the Chinese people accept the new rules and are happy about it.

I believe the creation of these new rules is very serious.The government is controlling everything and the people have no rights.The government creates ridiculous rules and the sad thing is the people happily accept it not realizing they are losing their rights to free speech and artistic expression.

Dimitri Diatchenko sent his ex girlfriend picture of a dead rabbit and him eating rabbit meat telling her that it was her rabbit. he also told her that he would do the same thing to her. this obviously freaked the girlfriend out and she told reporters. Dimitri denies it, but he said they did get into a fight but he just faked the whole thing out of anger.
I think the fact that Dimitri faked the whole thing is almost as bad as actually doing it. he had so much hate inside of himself that he would fake eat a bunny rabbit and threaten to eat his ex. he definitely needs to have charges pressed against him.

I think it is fantastic that they are letting her outfit be one display. it is probably a great honor to have such a dark memory be such symbolism for women everywhere. Malala is completely deserving of the Nobel peace prize. She is a role model for women across the world.

A housekeeper form Indonesia let a court in Hong Kong know how she had been abused for 6 months by her boss. She shoved a vacuum cleaner up the maids mouth. The housekeeper says she was kicked, punched, and slapped numerous times. Her employer faces many charges.

I think that the employer should face charges. There is a bug difference between a maid or a housekeeper and a slave, and the employer obviously did not see the difference. no human being should have to endure such torture. nobody should endure that much torture in any part of the world. humans abusing each other is a world wide occurrence and should be stopped.

A bomb explosion occurred in central Nigeria killing 32 citizens. The area in which it occurred has been known to have frequent violent actions occur. Most of this happening between Nigerian troops and known African terrorist groups. In addition numerous kidnappings of women and children occur,and along with bombings of schools. As of recently there have been no claims of who the bomber was.


Suicide bombings are always very disheartening events. Since this has occurred before, possibly higher  security measures can be taken. Possibly guards can be set up to ensure the protection of the citizens.Or maybe a bag check before items are brought into the market.I feel taking precautions like these can really make a difference.

Royal twins born in Monaco- Londyn Alexander pd:9

  Royal twins were just recently born. Princess Charlene Wittstock a former olympian, delivered a healthy baby girl and boy. These newly royal siblings are known as Gabriella Therese Marie and the boy Jacques Honore Rainier.  These children will be first in line for the throne. Jaques will take the crown, while his sister Gabriella will become The Countess of Carlades. 


Hearing about this new addition to the royal family of Monaco is wonderful. Its such a refreshing event amongst all the negative current events. The children are beautiful and i am delighted for the royal couple. I hope no controversy arises from the other children who are no longer in line for the crown.

Recently troops from France have infiltrated Mali and killed one of the countries Jahidist leader. The deceased leader was based in Northern Mali. He was responsible for numerous attacks and kidnappings. The United States had issued a 5 million reward for finding him. In addition to the leader ten other terrorist were captured or "neutralized" as well.



It is an amazing event that this real life villain has been caught. This is a stepping stone towards eradicating this particular terrorist group. I hope future events like this frequently occur, and our nation can be safe from groups who enjoy erupting fear in the hearts of citizens.

The typhoon Hagupit hit the Philippines last week. leaving mass destruction close to the capital, Manila. So far, 27 people have been confirmed dead from the storm, but officials are still looking. This storm did not kill as many people as Super Typhoon Haiyan, which killed over 7,000 people, but Hagupit still did intensive damage to the buildings and structures in the area.

This is just another example of however well we are prepared for something like this, we can never be fully prepared. while storms like this are terrible to people and their communities, I think people can always find good out of something. For example, the typhoon can help meteorologists predicts storms better by giving more data to patterns of tropical storms, which can help prepare the community better. They can also show what can be done to buildings to be built to better withstand storms. Even though many lives were lost and much damage was done, I think there can always be good out of something terrible.

The small Pacific island of Kiribati has having trouble with the rising tide and may even go fully underwater, being called "the next Atlantis." Government has tried many things to try and save their island nation, but their poor budget has not allowed them to be successful with anything. The U.N. is also trying everything they can do to help, but still has not yet figured anything out.

To all the people who think global warming and climate change is a myth, I don't know how you can logically explain this. island do not just sink back into the water. Global warming causes the sea levels to rise because of melting ice, and this is proof that it actually exists. Many lives are at stake because of countries like America and all of Europe's decisions. If we keep up with how we do things, like burning coal and natural gases and burning holes in the ozone layer, then pretty soon many islands (like ones that you like to vacation on) will be gone, and it will not be able to blame it on anyone than ourselves.

Ibolya Ryan, an american teacher was stabbed to death in a mall bathroom in Abu Dhabi. Police say the murder was based on a "personal terrorist attack." The U.S. embassy in the UAE stated, in October, that terrorists will start to attack western teachers, which were found online posted by alleged terrorists.

If online posts were found plotting against American and foreign teachers and planning to kill them, there's no reason not to think that this murder was part of a higher plot, and there can only be more to come. The internet can most of the time not be trusted, but in this case, the evidence lines up too perfectly to just be coincidence. There has always been history with terrorists in that region, so that just makes it that much more believable that plots to kill international teachers is real.

Indian Uber Driver Accused of Rape by Jesse Dale

Uber is a "taxi-cab" service used in big cities to transport people. The drivers use their own car, gas and GPS services. It is much cheaper and quicker than a taxi. But a man in New Delhi was accused of raping a women passenger after she had fallen asleep from a long ride and a big dinner she just ate. Uber already does a background check on all their drivers, says the CEO, so there was no way of foreseeing it.

Uber is great service. I think it is faster and more reliable than a normal taxi-cab service. But you cannot blame this event on the service itself. The exact same thing could have happen if the woman got into and taxi and the the man was a driver for them. All of the same risks are there when you get into a stranger's car and have them escort you home, whether it be their personal car or a company car. I am not saying it was the woman's fault of getting assaulted. Any man could have done it to her, which is why i think Uber should not be penalized for the incident.

In Africa, a group a people known as the Massai are renowned lion hunters. Lion hunting is so important to them, it is even a rite of passage from boyhood to manhood. You have to be very athletic and skilled to be a good lion hunter, but these skills are being brought to competitions, like running and jumping. Winners of these events are given medals, just like in the Olympics.The winners are then brought to different events around the globe to compete there and get their names known.

I think what these people are doing is a very very good thing to do, culturally and economically. They are bringing themselves closer to one another with harmless sports rather than risking lives with each other over a lion. This not only will help their culture survive, but let it survive even longer with more people alive. This also can help them economically because athletes who go around the world to compete will get their name of the Massai people known and when people start recognizing it, they will start coming to their village. This will help them become industrialized and bring them into the modern era of the rest of the world, which is exactly what places like this in Africa need.

In this article it shares new information that has been discovered about ISIS.  In their recent video,  investigators were able to identify one of the men.  They also discovered that the video was shot with an expensive camera and that the video was taken in many takes.  Another discovery was that the video was taken over a 4-6 hour time period.  There is a picture from the video along with the article.

The thought of this just sickens me.  Although, I am glad that they are finding out information about ISIS in which they will use to track them down, I really think this situation just needs to be put to an end because there are so many people that are being killed for no reason.  It is just really sad that people would take others lives for no reason.

India has chosen to ban Uber from their areas because of an alleged rape. They had failed to do a backround check on the man, who had been charged on rape charges only several months before. Uber is required by law to do backround check on all people they are hiring. For some reason, this man was not checked, and passed with a clean record.

This is bad on Uber's part because they did not do the one thing they are supposed to do when hiring someone. Normally, uber is a safe way to get home when one has been drinking, or is too tired to drive home. Uber has helped many people get home or to a destination when a car/their car is not available. However, they really need to watch who they hire, situations like this could put their company in a bad spot

  In the Philippines today, the hurricane, Hagupit, tore through the country and is making its way in a weaker state to Manila. Recently, the death toll has climbed to 21, 16 of those came from the city of Borongan on the eastern part of the Samar island. The hurricane has brought back memories of the typhoon Haiyan which happened just over a year ago and had killed more than 7,300 people with 1.2 million evacuated. It was classified as one of the strongest hurricanes ever recorded. The Hagupit storm has moved northwest and has grown weaker; it is now classified as a simple tropical storm by the U.S. However, damage is still being accounted for, along with the threat of severe flooding.

  It's terrible that we have such little control over something so dangerous in nature. We may have the technology to detect it for warnings and have the ability to evacuate, but we still are defenseless to the damage these natural disasters can unleash. I'm glad though, that evacuations are a part  of standard procedure in commonly hit areas such as the Philippines.

In South Africa, a judge threw out a "high-profile" murder case. Shrien Dewani was accused of killing his wife while on their honeymoon, but the judge claims the state's case is too weak for conviction. The state accused Dewani of hiring hit men to kill his wife, but he pleaded not guilty. The fact that witnesses accounts contradicted didn't help the states cause. Overall, it seems that until a strong lead is brought up, the case will not be handled.

This is horrible. A person's life was lost and a judge threw out a case that could have possibly brought light to what happened. I understand the judge didn't think there was enough evidence, but there has to be something else that could be done besides throwing out the case. Dewani's wife was a person who's rights were violated; it's a shame that someone in a position to seek justice did not choose to.

Australia storms: NSW braced for more disruption by M'lynn Musgrove

Huge thunderstorms are pounding down in Australia. The most affected areas were Sydney and Camden. A lot of the weather happened along the coast. The SES said they received 600 calls following storms on Sunday that brought heavy rain and hail. Over 1000 houses were left without power. Many residents were concerned. 

Personally living in Texas, crazy storms aren't a big deal. Because they are so close to the water, this is frightening for people who live on the beaches. Obviously no one would be allowed to surf but such large storms could lead to huge waves crashing into houses.

Britain is facing its wettest winter since 1766, and more rain than its ever had in decades.  The flooding is up to 3 feet in the streets and is overflowing into homes and hotels all around.  Some were lucky enough to be prepared when the storms began and loaded sand bags at every entrance, but the flooding still did damage.  The government is struggling to come up with the money needed to repair the cities affected.

I think it is very unfortunate that Britain is having to go through this, especially in the holiday season when money is already an issue.  It was so unexpected having said this hasn't occurred since the 1700's, and it wasn't even near this disastrous.   This will be very hard on their economy.  I think as a nation it would be very kind for America to help out the country financially, because there is no way they could've stopped this event from happening.  That would also give them a reason to help us in a time of need later in life.

Ed Richards tells many sources his opinion on British TV.  He believes that the children of Britain should be watching their own countries original TV programs.  Nowadays all they see are imported TV shows from America or China.  He says "it will make them turn against their own country".

I do not see a problem with British children watching American programs, because this is just a form of cultural diffusion which makes the world stronger.  As long as they still watch some of their own countries TV shows and are well educated of their own culture, there is not an issue.  America and China are much more developed and have better quality shows which is probably a reason the children are more interested in them, not because they are turning against their culture.

The royal duties of a prince and princess in the past has been to produce "an heir and a spare". The heir is made to take over the throne when the prince/princess dies, and the spare is only just in case something disastrous happens to the heir.  When Princess Kate Middleton announced she was pregnant with another baby, news went out that "the spare" was being born.

I think it is very sad that the spare will have to go through life being known as the backup.  They will have a hard life as it is trying to make sure nothing happens to their older sibling, or the heir, but on top of that they never feel worthy of the throne.  The only time they would be considered worthy is if the heir dies before reproducing.  It is also sad that the public assumes Kate is having another baby just because of her royal duty, and not because of pure love with her husband and just wanting another child.

How Ebola broke Sierra Leone's heart by M'Lynn Musgrove

In Sierra Leone, football is considered a second religion. Because of the ebola outbreaks all over the country, football has been banned. Usually on Sundays  Lumley Beach, outside the capital of Freetown, would usually be filled with thousands of people playing the national sport. Once the outbreaks began, this no longer occurred. I think its very sad. Studies show that living here is stressful mentally. Just touching a loved one could mean you are the next ebola victim. 

This makes me sad. Imagine america having to cut off football. I know my dad would be crushed along with other sports fans all over America. In Sierra Leone, they don't have much. If a sport was my only joy in the day, I would be crushed.

Life in the rubble of Kobani by M'Lynn Musgrove

In the city of Kobani, they have given up on hospitals. Only a few doctors remain to treat the people who are lightly wounded but all others are left to die. The city is a war scene at this point. There are civilians here who refuse to flee or cannot because of Turkey building limitations for them. These people have no shelter but one room in their house when explosions start. 

I think as Americans, we need to be more aware of this. I understand that we don't want to get involved in conflict with other countries but living like that is crazy.

Police helicopter finds huge swastika in bottom of pool in Brazil by M'Lynn Musgrove

Civil Police in Brazil say one of their helicopters found a huge swastika in the bottom of a swimming pool. Officers spotted the symbol on a property in Pomerode, Brazil in the southern state of Santa Catarina. Police say the pool has had the swastika for 13 years but they can't press charges because it is on private property. They also state that the home owner is not promoting "Nazism". 

I for one thing don't thing that the man is telling the truth. I think he is aware of what he is promoting. I agree that they can't press charges because it is in a private pool that almost no one has noticed but them. It isn't a big deal but i think that they should ask him to paint over it. It isn't harming anything but will be offensive to those who do see it.

Indian Uber driver arrested after alleged rape, police say by M'Lynn Musgrove

Uber is a car service used all around the world. It is thought of as a nicer taxi. This sunday, a uber driver was arrested in India for rape. Apparently, a woman fell asleep while on the road back to her house but when she woke up the uber was in at deserted area. There, he assaulted her. He dropped her near her house and she almost immediately called the police. Apparently, she called the police as soon as possible. He was arrested soon after.

This is a really scary thing because it shows that uber drivers aren't background checked. Anyone can be a driver as long as they have the right license. This makes me never want to take an uber especially being a teenaged girl. I have turned down taking ubers before because of the stories about the drivers that circulate.

Ibolya Ryan's Ex: 'Monster' Was Lying in Wait at Abu Dhabi Mall by Savannah Boyack

      Ibolya Ryan, 47 and mother of three, was stabbed in the bathroom of the upscale mall, Abu Dhabi, on Wednesday. Ryan was an American kindergarden teacher and was said to be "always positive and optimistic". Ryan's ex-husband stated that he believes his wife was attacked because she was a westerner. A preliminary investigation has shown that the accused attacker wasn't looking for an American but anyone who looked foreign. It is said the attacker picked her victims randomly.

This kinda surprised me. Someone killing people just because they looked foreign? What was the motive? I am actually speechless. Could the attacker have had some anger issues and was mad at something another country had done? I don't know what to say. All I have is questions.

Chris Hadfield decided to document his experience in space and after 3 trips, he has released it. The astronaut decided it would be a new idea to show the world what it is like to see the earth from a different view. He orbited Earth 2,593 times, so he is the right guy to do it.

I think it is a great way for the people of the world to understand just how small we are. When seeing the whole planet from above, it is a reminder that the Earth is a delicate place, and it lets everybody experience what astronauts experience without traveling to space themselves. It also shows the improvements in technology that we can now take pictures in outer space to share with the world.

Surveys conclude that thousands of people died from guns every year, whether its accidental or intentional. Guns aren't toys. They are tools. Guns are the worst possible thing a kid could be playing with. Kids could actually kill themselves if they don't know how to handle a gun. Another major issue is young adults in high school who get angry and decide they want to shoot up the school. Guns should only given to people with a clean, and sane backround.

Guns are way too easy to get in America. almost any one can get them. We need to not ban guns, but put more control on them. People, dangerous people are getting weapons and putting other peoples lives in danger, this has to be stopped!

The Ferguson case is still going strong. People still want the man to go to jail for shooting an innocent person. The protests are getting angry, and sometimes violent. The protestors want to out an end to this injustice. The police have had to detain some of the protestors, as they are causing some problems. It looks like this won't be ending soon.

I do not stand anywhere on this situation. I do not know enough about it to have a strong opinion. However, a murder is a murder and this deed should not go unpunished. This man should be put in jail. There is no justification for killing a human being.

The General Martin Dempsey told CBS the peaceful ways of defeating ISIS and most effective ways. They will try to get their income to dry up and get their religious claim illegitimized so that the Sunni muslim population rejects them.

This is a wise decision because many terrorists are born from their family members being killed from U.S. bombings. . If we move in with troops too soon ISIS will use this to inspire more men to join his cause, but if we can find a way that shows that their claims of jihad in the name of Allah are not justified the Sunni population will reject them and cooperate in taking them down. This way we can take down ISIS without giving innocent muslims a reason to hate us and either join or found a terrorist organization.

In this article it describes different lake lodges around the world that are beautiful.  It lists each of them and their unique characteristics.  For example, it gives information on dining and what the lodge is known for.  It also includes the different locations, measurements of the property (that they would be staying on), and the article provides intriguing pictures of the lodges' views.

This article is not my favorite, but it was interesting to see places that I didn't even know existed!  The pictures of the lodges really caught my eye.  If you would like to see some pretty spectacular lodges, I suggest looking at this article.

4.7 Magnitude Earthquake Rattles Arizona

  On Sunday night, a minor earthquake rattled residents 7 miles north of Sedona (northern Arizona). Earthquakes hear are frequent, but don't cause much damage or harm. According to a geological survey, the earthquake was 6 miles underground. There were no reports of injury or damage. Although, debris had to be cleaned off from a highway between Sedona and Flagstaff. The Arizona Earthquake Information Center stated that this was nothing unusual and that it's a common occurrence. Still, more than 1,200 people reported that they felt the earthquake. Accounts include people saying that they heard their houses rattling or that it sounded like an explosion.

  Arizona (especially in the north) has frequent earthquakes, besides desert cities. Recent data states that 10-15 quakes occur every month in Arizona, but relatively small ones. Although, Arizona has faults that are capable of generating a 7.0 quake. That was the magnitude of the 2010 earthquake that killed more than 300,000 people in Haiti. Despite the minor damage and frequent earthquakes in Arizona or other "quake-prone" states, I'm glad that they're able to expect quakes and know what to do given a circumstance because of their experience.

Recently a man was fined for crashing a drone. This happened in melbourne australia, so it really has no relevancy. The man was fined $850 in australian currency. Earlier this year a drone crashed into a triathletes head, causing serious injury.

Photographer recreates paintings by Vern Blossfeld

Summary: Spanish photographer Javier Hirschfeld has been photographing the women of Goree Island, off the coast of Senegel. His fascination with eyes that stare back at the viewer and with Spanish painter Julio Romero De Torres' works have moved him to take photographs of the Senegalese locals. He is mimicking powerful portraits created by de Torres', replacing objects within the paintings with ones that represent Senegal's culture, such as one depicting a woman with local incense in her hands. Hirschfeld says, ""In the history of art, when women are portrayed, most of the time they're being looked at. I like portraits of women that look back at you, and the woman in La Chiquita Piconera is looking back with a lot of dignity and a lot of strength." Hirschfeld's works are dynamic in that they're meant to represent Senegalese culture, but also reflect universal sentiment. "I wanted to show that some emotions are universal, and create a more universal portrait, but I also wanted to create a more Senegalese scene," he says.
Analysis: Hirschfeld's work is amazing, and interesting in that its inspiration comes from another artists' work without exactly copying it. This event involves world history through the constant changing and developing of art throughout history. Both Hirschfeld's and de Torres' works are great in that the women in the portraits aren't looking away, they're looking straight at you with unflinching stares.

Are we close to finding an HIV vaccine? by Vern Blossfeld

Summary: A trial conducted in 2009 in Thailand may have the key to finding an AIDS/HIV vaccine. The trial included over 16,000 volunteers, the largest trial held for a vaccine against HIV. One vaccine tested showed protection. "That trial was pivotal," says Dr. John Mascola. "Prior to that, it wasn't known whether a vaccine could be possible." Another such pivotal discovery has been that patients regularly taking their antiretroviral treatment reduce their chances of spreading the disease by 96%. A vaccine remains essential to combat the epidemic.
Analysis: The development so far in HIV research has been slow but progressive. With scientists and doctors like Mascola working to find a cure, a vaccine could be discovered soon! It's also nice that the amount of people being newly infected has gone down. Hopefully it stays that way! This connects to World History in that it's a disease that doesn't have a cure, and is effecting the nation worldwide.
