"The Interview" Randi Thompson
Sony Pictures has reversed its decision to cancel the release of "The Interview," following backlash over the studio's response to theaters nationwide dropping the controversial movie. The New York Times reports the United States' four largest chains Regal, AMC, Cinemark and Carmike still have no plans to show the film. But more than 200 theaters across the nation will show the James Franco-Seth Rogen comedy about the fictional assassination of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un. According to Huffington Post, at least 20 theaters in New York state will show "The Interview," including Movietime Cinemas 10 in Canandaigua; American 5 in Canton; Movieplex 59 in Dunkirk; Movieplex 8 in Hudson; Massena Movieplex 8; and several in New York City. http://www.bostonglobe.com/arts/movies/2014/12/23/where-the-interview-screening-boston/FC2U7HDJWrYNmb1O1vnheJ/story.html
