India has chosen to ban Uber from their areas because of an alleged rape. They had failed to do a backround check on the man, who had been charged on rape charges only several months before. Uber is required by law to do backround check on all people they are hiring. For some reason, this man was not checked, and passed with a clean record.
This is bad on Uber's part because they did not do the one thing they are supposed to do when hiring someone. Normally, uber is a safe way to get home when one has been drinking, or is too tired to drive home. Uber has helped many people get home or to a destination when a car/their car is not available. However, they really need to watch who they hire, situations like this could put their company in a bad spot
