Elle Holland Current Event #6

Two paintings by Vincent Van Gogh have recently been retuned back to the Van Gogh museum. The Paintings were stolen out of the museum on December 7th of 2002 and were found recently in Italy with no frames and little damage. The paintings titled "Congregation Leaving the Reformed Church in Nuenen" and "Seascape at Scheveningen" date back to the early 1880's and now have major historical value. The museum is so glad to have the paintings back and claim they have been waiting for this moment for 14 years.

I am very glad that the paintings have been returned and am glad that a small piece of history gads been restored. However i believe that is thieves could easily get  into the building using a ladder then the museum needs to update it's security system in order to keep the historical artworks intact so we can enjoy them for years to come.
