Melanie Escalante- US no longer a safe country

The number of people who have been fleeing the United States and making their way to Canada has increased greatly due to the presidency of Donald Trump. Many have made the dangerous journey through Canada's harsh snow to make it past the Canadian border. The United States used to be considered a safe state but immigrant advocates in Canada disagree. The prime minister of Canada is welcoming to refugees, as he knows that many are scared for their lives here in the United States. However, because of this many Canadians are worried about the safety of their country. Since many have fled from the United States and into Canada, the small towns along the border are growing crowded.

It's crazy to me how one thing leads to another. Because of Donald Trump and his executive order many have been scared and leaving. Because many people have been scared and leaving they're unofficially moving into Canada. Because people are unofficially moving into Canada, their borders and towns are crowded. I never imagined so many people being scared to live in the United States. Our country is supposed to be a safe place that provides equality and freedom among all but because of recent events it is no longer that place. I really hope we can continue to fight against our crappy president and do something about all of this. I don't want to be apart of a country that doesn't provide everyone with their rights and feelings of safety.
