Right now, between 21 and 45 million people are trapped in slavery. At least 5.5 million of those are children. Although slavery is outlawed in every country, criminals earn more than $150 Billion every year from enslaving people. Luckily, there's a way we can change all of that. On March 14, 2017 students are asking schools around the country to organize events that highlights modern slavery and celebrate freedom. The best part is, you can take charge to get your school involved in this program.
I think this is an amazing event and should be done annually until we stop modern day slavery. Slavery is something that we've worked hard to get rid of, but why stop when we are so close to having it be completely in the past. I think every school should take part in this event and spread the word about ending modern day slavery.
This is a good idea to do every year to bring awareness of this issue. We all need to do what we can to combat the slavery of all, especially children.
