Self-driving cars? Aevaramirez5

In Denver self-driving cars are making life or death decisions. For example if you are looking down at your phone and almost hit a pedestrian, your car has to make a decision. Either your car turns to miss the pedestrian and in turn injures their driver or hit the pedestrian and save you. Well here's the problem. Let the car decide your fate or you? Either way the pros and cons are balanced on both sides. The computer makes a decision by considering the effects it might have on its party and the ones in the outside world.

I'm not sure how I feel about this. I could go either way. In the end we are still affecting the road by giving or not giving the car power on the road. It's all based on perspective. And at times I think certain people are better off not having a say on the road but I think it's still a free country so ultimately it's up to you. Let a computer drive for you or you?

  1. I think it is good that we are making life easier but i do think at a certain point some things need to be done without technology.

  2. I really think this is sad. It gives me even less hope for humanity. I can't believe people can't keep their eyes on the road, and cars are having to do it for us. With each new technological advance, we lose intelligence. People are becoming lazier and lazier(guilty as charged, hehe). Pretty soon Wall-e will become our reality.
