Blink DNA Jules Stowe

DNA imaging is quickly becoming more and more of a high demand thing. We need it to better understand genetic defects, and help advance in the medical field. In recent, scientist have created a new form of imaging that is so powerful it can actually catch the DNA "blinking" in response to light. This was accomplished by adding florescent dyes to the DNA and holding it under a stimulating light source in their controlled environment. scientists are referring to this set up as SICLON, which stands for intrinsic-contrast photon-localizing optical nanoscopy.

This holds importance because making these kinds of imaging advancements will vastly improve the researching world. Genetic diseases and disorders are becoming more and more common and once we are able to fully understand the DNA as a whole we become one step closer to being able to save the lives of those suffering from genetic defects. The SICLON will help hundreds one day if we keep using and improving it.
