I think that this is such a great idea! I didn't really realize the gravity of the situation but I do now. I also didn't know that people could still get Yellow Fever, I thought that disease died out in the 18th century. This just proves how some of our problems go back to the earliest of historical records and beyond.

Kate Boyer-Have We Found a way to get Rid of Mosquitos?
To most of us, mosquitos are just little pests that leave us itching for an escape from the humid habitats in which these insects thrive. However, these tiny bugs can pack a punch, infecting millions of humans with fatal diseases. Researchers and organizations have come up with cheap ways to help prevent the risk of getting bit. Bed nets being the most successful of the lot. But therein lies our issue, the nets are responsible for 70% of the prevention but that leaves the remaining 30% to deal with. Scientists around the world are working to find a solution that could rid these deathly bugs from bothering us. One way is to create furniture with insect repellent woven into the fabric, so far this prototype has positive results and should give about 6 months of protection. Another research team has decided to go with a similar concept and make repelling clothes and shoes. And yet, another is protecting you with soap.

It's comforting to think that there are solutions being created to this problem right now. I hope this helps decrease the threat of malaria and similar diseases.
