Ellen Whitehead- Current Event

People near Oroville, California have been evacuated because of Northern California's Ortho Dam. There is a large risk of flooding in the area. Emergency evacuations are still in order. A massive hole was discovered on Sunday, preceding the evacuations. Some families were given minutes to pack, stores closed down, shelters opened, Downtown Oroville was empty. I feel that this evacuation was appropriate for the situation. The area was unsafe so it was reasonable to evacuate the area to keep the the citizens sheltered.

  1. It sucks that people only had minutes to prepare to leave, but as long as no one gets hurt thats good.

  2. That's good that people had time to evacuate and get out, but it hurts my heart that they have to leave their own town.
