Nanjing, China- In an effort to move rural people to the city China has come up with a plan, vertical forests. About 55% of people in China live in cities. China wants to move forward in technology but still stay present with the past and nature. Vertical forests are plant habitats growing all over tall skyscrapers. They are estimated to take in about 25 tons of carbon dioxide and release more that 20 tons of oxygen each year. The project is said to be complete in 2018. Many people from rural areas are pleased with the plan and look forward to the future.
I think it's so cool!!!! China is not only advancing in technology and urbanization but with the benefit of the planet in mind. It's an eco friendly way to move forward. Of course every plan will have its draw backs but I'm looking forward to seeing it in the new current evens of 1018.

I agree it is great how China is moving forward in technology. I had no idea vertical forests could release so much oxygen. I am looking forward to the results.
ReplyDeleteI truly hope that, if this works, it will spread around the world.
