Ellen Whitehead- Current Event

On Sunday, Hitler's telephone was sold for $243,000 by an anonymous bidder. The phone was recovered shortly after the war ended in 1945 from the Fuhrerbunker. It has been kept in a box in an English country house since. The phone was a black Bakelite phone that was painted red and engraved with Hitler's name as well as an eagle and a swastika. According to the auction house this phone was the "most destructive 'weapon' of all time, which sent millions to their deaths around the world." Ralph Rayner, a British officer found the phone and passed it on to his son, Ranulf Rayner after his death. Rayner was glad to have the phone gone because he claimed that he was always worried that someone would try to steal the phone. He was always told that the phone would give him bad luck. I would probably do the same at Ranulf Rayner and sell the phone because I would not want such a powerful "weapon" under my watch, even though it is harmless now.

  1. That's so crazy!! The phone doesn't belong in a home, if anything give it to a museum.
