Russia news by Becca Hodge

The president of Russia, Valdimir Putin, shut down the state-owned news agency RIA Novisti to be replaced with Russia Today. All of the people attached to the news agency have been switched out with Kremlin supports who work directly with the government. This is so only certain pieces of information about the government with be released and that the government will have control over the news entirely.

This is strange but I understand why they are doing this. Russia wants to in control of everything that goes on, including the news. And what better way of doing that then by running the news themselves? I just hope that they release information that needs to be released and not just the fluff they put in to make that big problems seem littler that they actually are.
