Dolphin Hunting Season Kicks off in Japan by Saul Flores

http://news.msn.com/world/dolphin-hunting-season-kicks-off-in-japan

Usually at this time of year, people look forward to football season starting, but apparently the Japanese have just kicked off dolphin hunting season in Taiji. The killing was planned to last until late February, but bad weather has caused delay hunting, so unfortunately the hunting season has been extended to mid-April. Some hunters argue that killing these dolphins is an ancient tradition, but the rest of the world strongly disagrees. Global criticism sparked whenever a local official spread the news. Protests have already taken place in Tokyo, which makes Japan worry about its reputation. It seems like local Japanese civilians the entire globe will do whatever it takes to ensure the survival of these innocent Dolphins.

I strongly disagree with the actions of these dolphins hunters. Their argument is that they need meat supply, and that dolphins are one of the few mammals that are not in danger of extinction.
I understand that they need food to eat and I know that dolphins aren't yet extinct, but if they continue to kill the dolphins, then they are granting the dolphins a spot on the endangered species list. In fact, if they continue to hunt them down, they will no longer have a dolphin food supply, and will be forced to change their eating diet. However, if they change their eating habits NOW,the dolphins will thrive and the Japanese will still have other food to eat. That would be a win-win situation, so they should probably stop killing the dolphins before it's too late.
