Every May 1st the local group of Neo Nazi's has thier racist protest and every year it gets violent. City officials last year were trying to make sure another violent protest doesn't brake out. In Sweden in order to protest something you need to apply for a protest permit. City officials debated denying the Nazi's permit, but feared a violent retaliation. The mayor cam up with a great plan. He managed to get every public place place booked for something on May 1st so that the Swedish Neo-Nazi's had no where to go for their annual May Day protest.
This is a step forward in getting Sweden more diversity tolerant. The Swedes had legalized same-sex marriage before many of the other European nations and even some around the world (even some U.S. states)
It's great that the city officials were able to stop the Neo Nazis without provoking them. It's terrible that discriminatory organizations like that still exist.
