Summary: The Solar Impulse 2, an airplane entirely powered by solar power, will soon be flown across the Pacific Ocean by Andre Borscheberg. It's a 5-day flight, taking off in Nanjing, China and landing in Hawaii after the better part of a week. If successful, Borschberg’s flight will be the first ever made across such a vast expanse by a solar-powered plane, and it will set a new bar for transport using clean technologies.
Analysis: This is amazing! That technology has advanced so far that people are able to even think about flying an airplane that distance is a terrific accomplishment. Hopefully with this success, if it is one, we will be able to begin replacing things that usually require fuel with other sources of energy, until we no longer need to use it anymore.
