"Charlotte police shooting: Family says video is unclear" -Ellen Whitehead
Last Tuesday, Keith Lamont Scott may have been innocently killed. The police officers claim that Mr. Scott pointed a gun at them, causing them to shoot him. However, Mr. Scott's family have viewed the surveillance footage and claim that he did not only not have a gun in his hand, but that he never owned a gun. The mayor is still debating wether or not to release the video to the public, but she too is unsure on the scenario. I feel that this story is very concerning because it is important to know whether this man deserved to be killed or he was innocent. I feel that if the police officers had mistaken that they should admit it rather than go through all this trouble, and the family deserves to know. I hope that they can resolve this case because it is important information to know.

I hate when policemen assume stuff and shoot , then get away with it like don't assume things like that
ReplyDeleteI agree with you, it's not right that police can just assume and shoot and get away with it. Also I think they should release the video out to the public.
ReplyDeleteI think that police feel like they have the power to do whatever they want because they will get away with it. They kill and say something like ,"he was a threat" or "he was reaching for a gun".
