Recently Obama has passed a law saying it is illegal to manufacture and sell any item with or relating to the confederate flag as well as possessing one. If you do, you shall be properly punished through the government, for it is an actual law, and should not be treated as a joke. Obama says it it is a major victory against racism and brings us more together as a country.
I completely agree with this law. I feel that there is no reason to keep around something that represents the old segregated and unfair ways of America. We are all humans and and the color of our skin does not change that. It should still be taught in education because it is our history, but has no place in the present time. I am ashamed that we treated people like products. I realize that, that was how people were raised to think at the time but that is no excuse, people are people and should always be treated as such.

I also totally agree with this law. Even if it the flag is claimed to have no relations with racism of any sort, it is still propaganda of the Confederacy, a rebel union of the Civil War, which should still not be allowed either.
ReplyDeleteI concur, for that flag basically conveys racism, and there is no point in being against the coming together of races today. Our is so caught up about the color of one's skin, or the way one talks, that we haven't realized we are all the same. -Alex Travell
ReplyDeleteThere was a man on my street ( really nice man) who had a Confederate flag in his living that everyone can see through his window and offended a lot of people. I can see why the law was passed to move forward from past mistakes.
