North Korea recently had another nuclear test, and the USA clearly wasn't too psyched about it. We quickly began talking more seriously about preventing North Korea from getting nuclear weapons. We agreed with South Korea to deploy an advanced anti-missile defense system, but China and Russia are reluctant to back further sanctions and decisions. This was a compromise between America's interests and those of South Korea, who wanted nukes of their own. As a show of force to North Korea, and allegiance to South Korea, we flew a couple of advanced and powerful bombers over South Korea. Clearly the author wrote this piece to bolster American pride while also instilling anti-North Korean feelings in the reader.

I agree! If I was America(metaphorically), I wouldn't be too happy either! Although, having South Korea as an ally is a great idea, for they are closer, so they can get info and stuff for us, so I guess that is good. - Alex Travell

ReplyDeleteit will be very bad if nuclear weapons get into North Korea's hands. Its good that South korea and the US are taking precaution. I think a defense system will be very helpful to south Korean's.-jade pierre

ReplyDeleteI think the writer should be less biased and more focused on the facts. I think that none of the countries could be trusted with nuclear weapons, but much less South Korea and their harsh dictator.
ReplyDeleteNorth Korea should not get a wholed of nuclear weapons it would be a chaos
