Noah Hirsch: Current Events #3

Kim Jon Un is back at it again with more nuclear weapons and he does not plan to stop growing his arsenal any time soon.  Last Friday he was applauded by all is loyal subjects for conducting North Koreas fifth and most powerful nuclear weapons test so far.  The U.S. has taken significant steps to show Kim Jon Un that there will be consequences to his actions but is that enough?  If history repeats itself (which it most likely will) than these significant steps will not help at all and North Korea will continue making weapons.

This story worrys me.  It makes me think, how long will it be until Kim Jon Un decides it's time to use his nuclear arsenal and what is he building this arsenal for?  Im afraid that in the U.S.'s attempts to stop him we might make him angry enough to deploy one of his nukes on us.  Or one of his tests will go tragically wrong and many innocent North Koreans will die because of it.  This story makes me wonder whether or not the U.S. might need to resort to more drastic measures to ensure our safety.

  1. I agree that this is a scary thought to think that something we say could anger him enough to send a nuke our way. And how no one can tell him anything about it because he won't listen to reason.

  2. I agree with what you said, for the thought of nuclear war frightens me, and I also agree with what you said about how he can release his weapons at any time. I hope the US has a counterattack. -Alex Travell

  3. I completely agree with you guys, a nuclear war does seem very unsafe and frightening for many obvious reasons. I hope the US has some idea or way to counterattack, as Alex said, or just to stop this plan as a whole before anything gets out of hand.
