Four cities were chosen earlier this year to transform the area...with art. Each is commissioned about one million dollars to create artwork in urban areas. In Los Angeles, artists are basing their work off of the major drought issue in the state. They're using their own talent and creativity as a resource to informing people that this is a real problem that's causing a huge impact on their city. Water is a huge necessity in California almost all of the time. The few other cities are beginning their projects this fall. A few cities are using LED installations to draw attention to the loss of community, and make the neighborhoods brighter and welcoming.
These enormous works of art aren't just interactive, but some are even inspiring change. I think these projects are a great idea. Not only do they make the cities beautiful and interesting, but they are public spaces and exhibits that anyone can visit. Some of the projects are creating a sense of community all over the cities, bringing different people together to enjoy the art.

It's amazing that they are transforming the city with art. Sometimes people get so caught up in work and electronics they forget to stop and just enjoy the beautiful things in life.
