A car went off the freeway ramp and hit a 19 year old homeless man inside a tent in Seattle, Washington. The 33 year old driver who was identified fled the scene but was arrested soon after the investigation. The tent was pitched in a grassy area along I-5 with many other homeless camps. The city of Seattle has struggled with growing numbers of homeless people.
Reading this article made me sad because it makes me upset that there are so many people without homes. The man was only 19, and even though he was living in a tent, he did not deserve to die. I hope Seattle and many other areas around the United States struggling with growing numbers of homeless people figure out a way to house more people. This article was probably written to raise awareness for the homeless.

I agree that they need to do something about the homeless and there need, but at the same time, some can get jobs, if others are I'll or hurt well they get help. But why would a guy run over a homeless man in his tent?Bad driver? Not enough sleep? What

ReplyDeleteIt is so sad that the growing populations in homeless people is increasing. Also the fact that the man is only 19 is really sad that he is homeless at such a young age and now his life has ended. Hopefully in the next years we can find more ways to help homeless people not be homeless.
ReplyDeleteI feel as if we need to create more safe places for these homeless people out on the streets. I find it so sad that larger quantities of people are becoming homeless. Hopefully in years to come, there is some found resolution about this situation.
ReplyDeleteI feel that the car shouldn't have ridden off the road in the first place, which caused the event. I'm also surprised that the driver could carelessly run into someone.
