Liza Kaye: Supreme Court won't hear transgender bathroom case

This week, the Supreme Court sent a high school student's transgender bathroom case down to a lower court, disappointing the student. Gavin Grimm, a local high school student from Virginia, is discriminated every single day for being a transgender. Gavin's hopes are to be able to choose which bathroom they prefer to use. They also want the ability to outlaw certain state locker room laws. However, Gavin stays optimistic about the painful situation. Gavin claims this conflict to be simply be just a bump in the road, not the end to the road.

This is very relevant and relatable to the equal rights movements. From women's voting rights, to African American rights, everyone was still fighting for equal rights. This just comes to show that equal rights are still being fought for everyday, and have been for a very long time.

  1. I also wrote about this, and I agree that we are all still fighting for equal rights.

  2. Everyone to this days continues to fight for equal rights and for acceptance. I support those people who struggle through situations such as transgender rights. People should keep on fighting and stay strong.
In this article, a transgender is restricted to going to a certain bathroom. Isn't this ridiculous? Why should anybody say where you can go to the bathroom? Gavin is staying positive by saying it is simply a bump in the road. And it is.
