A police officer in Dallas, Roy Oliver, shot a fifteen year old last month. Recently, the father of the boy (Jordan Edwards) is suing the police department. Jordan Edwards was at a party (sober) with his brothers and some friends. As the police showed up at the party Edwards' brothers and himself try to leave the party and claim that Oliver shot at their car as thy drove away. Apparently the police department takes fault at where Oliver wasn't trained fully and completely. I feel that the police department is at fault because they hadn't trained the officer all the way.

There was no reason for him to have gotten shot, so i feel like it's unacceptable for him to have shot the boy and then blame it on the fact that "he wasn't trained all the way."
ReplyDeleteThis is terrible, the fact that he wasn't fully trained is not an acceptable excuse for the man's behavior. you just don't shoot an innocent boy in a car.
ReplyDeleteI feel that the police officer should not have been firing if he was not fully trained. I hope the police department fully trains their men before this could happen again.
ReplyDeleteI agree there was no reason for shooting. Yes they shouldn't have been sober while driving, but that isn't an excuse for killing someone. Knowing that this officer wasn't even trained completely raises questions why he would do this and why he was doing the job.
ReplyDeleteThere are multiple current events that have been written about this and awareness for this shooting should spread because this is so terrifying and wrong. That police officer should not have been out if he was not trained.
ReplyDeleteAll police officers need to be fully trained and suited for the job before they're given a gun. I still wonder why he shot at them for no reason.
