Elle Holland Current Event

Around 10 million people across the midwest are under flood warning because the Mississippi river is flooding at record breaking levels. The river is cresting which is the most sever form of a flood wave. This flood will be affecting so many people in communities in Indiana, Illinois, Missouri, Arkansas, Kentucky and Tennessee. This flood has already killed 6 people including a 10-year old who was swept away when trying to climb to higher ground.

I think it is so upsetting that we don't have a better way to control natural disasters and keep them from hurting people like this. I hope in the future we will learn from these and create the technology to be able to stay safe during these crisis.

  1. I wish there was a stronger way to prevent such things from happening, and I hope they find a solution to floods, because they are so common.

  2. This is so sad, especially because it's out of your hands since it is a natural disaster. Hopefully no one else will be killed and hopefully the overflooding will stop.
