Jenny's 2nd current events post

A 27 month toddler found alive after boat capsizes.

On August 19th in Cocoa, Florida a family of four husband bryan, wife Tammy ,27 month old Kennedy, and 7 month old Charlotte, were on a boat they were coming home after meeting relatives for dinner. Tammy and her 2 daughters were asleep in the back of the boat when suddenly Bryan saw a wire hit the side of the boat which caused it to capsize, it was so sudden that he didn't even think about putting a life jacket on. When the family fell into the water Bryan noticed  that his phone still worked so he handed it to Tammy and she immediately called 911, help was in its way. Bryan and Tammy managed to get back on what was now the bottom of the bottom which was no above water with there daughter Charlotte, but there was no sign of Kennedy. When help arrived people immediately dove under water looking for Kennedy they could hear her crying but they didn't know where it was coming from the bottom of the boat they kept gliding there hand under the boat until finally one of the officers felt a toddlers leg and he yanked it until she floated up with her life vest on. Apparently she was stuck in an air pocket when the boat capsized and stayed floating for 45 minutes. The officers were mike dellatorre, Dora dellatorre, and Alan worthy. They said that they didn't feel like heroes they were just doing there job. I think that it's amazing what does officers did for Kennedy they could have drowned under water but still managed to save that little girls life which is absolutely amazing.

  1. That was a great happy ending. I like how the rescuers just thought of it as part of their job as well instead of thinking about "being a hero".
