Mica Stout | Current Event #2

President Barack Obama cancels a meeting with the Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte that was supposed to be held this week. The reason for its cancelation was that Duterte insulted President Obama. Obama was supposed to meet with Southeast Asian leaders, and the topic of discussion was to be about Duterte's way of handling drug dealers, which was to kill them. Duterte thought it would be smart to say that "Obama better think twice about raising the issue of killing."

I think that if President Duterte just kept his mouth closed, then the meeting would still go on, and Obama would still be on "good terms" with Duterte. Obama wanted a productive meeting and I agree with Obama saying that the issue would be brought up in the meeting, therefore it should be canceled. Also I think that it was out of line for Duterte to talk about the killings that went on in America especially since it wasnt too long ago.
