In Iran, more than 800 clothing shops were raided and shut down because they were selling clothing items that didn’t fit Islamic requirements. Meaning that they were Western-Style (USA), for example t-shirts or skirts, as opposed to niqabs, hijabs, or burkas where women’s entire bodies are covered in loose fabric to hide their feminine shape, heads, or sometimes entire faces.
I feel that if the woman wants to follow her religion and cover up her body, then she can do so. However, if someone else is forcing her to do so, that it’s not okay. It is your right as a person to wear what you wish rather than having it forced upon yourself by another person to cover your body.
I agree with your analysis that women should have the right to choose what they want to wear without the permission of another person.
ReplyDeleteI agree, I will respect their choice to cover up so I think that others should respect their choice if they want to not cover up as much. Nice job on the facts and the analysis was well written.
ReplyDeleteI am so grateful to live in a country that allows me to wear what I want. The women of Iran must feel very oppressed. It could be just a way of life for them and they accept it but it seems very sad to not have simple freedoms.
