A month ago, 15 year old, Jordan Edwards was shot and killed by officer Roy Oliver. Oliver was fired 6 days ago and charged with first degree murder with a $300,000 bond. The law suit says that the officers weren't trained and used excessive force with Jordan.
The info. as I kept reading said that no crime was even being committed and he was basically shot for no reason. I feel that the officer was kind of racist towards Jordan, and his two brothers while they were driving, because they're black. It's not right for any officer to have a short temper and just lose it on the first person they find.
(There's more to the story about his brother being handcuffed after if you want to click the link.)

There is no reason to shoot someone if they aren't breaking the law or committing a crime. This officer got what he deserved and knowing he wasn't even trained raises some questions towards him. Why would he do this? I agree this officer was racist towards this kid and i think there should be an extra punishment just for that.
ReplyDeleteIf those police officers were not trained then why were they out in the first place? Or is the police department just trying to cover up their corrupt members? There was basically no reason for this kid to get shot but at least that police officer got what he deserved.
ReplyDeletePolices officers who aren't even trained shouldn't even have the power to use the gun. I hope the families of the victim can recover.
