A 16-year-old from California hid inside an airplane wheel and stowed away on a flight to Hawaii. Everyone is surprised he survived, because conditions would be so harsh. Not only is the plane at an altitude of 38,000 feet, but the temperatures are below zero. Since 1947, 105 people tried to stowaway in the wheel of a plane, but 25 of them survived, including a 9-year-old. The boy could have suffered brain damage, so it was a large risk to take. Not only is the boy's safety a concern, but the safety of the airport is questionable. If this boy was able to sneak over an airport fence and sneak onto a flight, they need to get better security.
This is really scary. I really hope the boy hasn't suffered any extreme long-term damage. Hopefully, he didn't get in too much trouble, but learned that what he did was dangerous. Maybe the airport will step up their security as well. I just hope that everyone is safe and out of harm's way, especially when the boy was that close to possible death!

What I'm most wondering is why this boy would do such a dangerous thing, and while I hope that he doesn't suffer from this, I hope he still gets some help to make sure it doesn't happen again.
ReplyDeleteThis boy made a really dumb decision. Obviously that area on the plane wouldn't be pressurized, so how did he expect to live? I hope the airlines make sure that this doesn't happen again, or someone else's life may be in jeopardy.
ReplyDeleteThis airport should really raise their security concerns
ReplyDeleteI think since he survived he's so awesome. I think he had every right to run away and get away as far as possible
