Flooding along the US coastlines has become a more prominent threat recently. For years, scientists have warned the country about the water levels rising too quickly, and it was ignored for so long. Citizens of these flooded cities are electing leaders that will invest money in them, someone that will help them rebuild their communities. Miami Beach has created a plan to raise their streets, build up sea walls, and install new pumps for four hundred million dollars. Local leaders of the damaged towns are following suit, pleading with the federal government to provide them with the billions of dollars necessary to help them. Even now, naval bases are being overtaken by the rising sea, threatening the security of the coast.
This is a real issue that tests our country, and it can't be ignored any longer. People thought that scientists warnings were just theories, and we had time before the flooding began. Factories, cars, mining, oil and gas exploration, which are all man's creation, emit carbon dioxide and methane, creating a large impact on global warming. Storms, such as the one's that began Louisiana's flooding, are more intense because of the changes in the atmosphere that we cause. Land ice is melting, and the ocean is swamping our coastlines. Around ninety percent of global warming is caused by humans, and that needs to change.

Global Warming has been a problem for a really long time and scientists have been warning us the whole time while its sad it takes this much damage for people to pay attention at least now it is being brought up. It's better late than never.
