Chantel Washington's current event:Cops pepper spray 84 year old woman

Recently a lady named Geneva Smith from Muskogee, Oklahoma was pepper sprayed by a police officer in her own home.
Apparently two police officers followed her son, Arthur Blackman home after he ran a stop sign and after they discovered that the car was not registered. When Arthur refused to come outside three more officers came and they forced entry. They then shot him with a stun gun and when Geneva heard all the noise she came out and got pepper sprayed because she would not "turn around". They were both then handcuffed and taken to jail where Geneva had a panic attack and was rushed to the hospital.

In my opinion i do not think that she should have been pepper sprayed because 1. she did nothing wrong. 2. It was a forced entry. From my understanding the police cannot come into your house unless they have a warrant.( correct me if im wrong). 3. why would you pepper spray an 84 year old woman. Its not like she had any where to run to.

This article was written for the general public and to emphasis the age of this woman (84) and the circumstance of what led to the incident.
It brings forth the question if the justice system is handing out justice equally and if the police responded correctly  when they pepper sprayed the woman. Was it justified or over the top?

  1. Yeah I agree with what you said, as long as the lady wasn't threatening them with violence then there was no need for action.

  2. I agree with you she was 84 and couldn't have done any harm to them. You also never know what health conditions she was in and pepper spray could really hurt her. It's also sad she had a panic attack

  3. totally agree. it was wrong for this to happen. All this commotion over running a stop sign and an unregistered car. Not to mention that the women also had a panic attack and had to go to the hospital.

  4. The age really does catch my attention and I completely agree with everyone on how unnecessary it was. I think the police should've turned on the siren to pull the guy over instead of following him home and breaking into his house.
