Around midnight, Sergei Filin was heading home when somebody tossed acid at him which caused severe burns on his face. Filin is a director of the Bolshoi Ballet. Right now it seems that it will take about six months for the director to recover and his sight might not be saved. It is known that he had been threatened before this incident.
