A man was arrested after jumping the fence into the white house. The man was armed, according to the article, and was attacked bythe guard dogs almost seconds after getting inside the fence. The man was mentally unstable, and clearly wasn't thinking about what he was doing. The man caused a lockdown, which was in effect for 90 minutes.
My analysis on this event is that security is very tight in the US. They do everything they can to protect the safety of the nation, we do not want anyone that could threaten any of the structures in DC, especially the white house. 9/11 took the world trade center, we don't want to lose something like the white house.
