A lightning strike killed 11 people out of the 13 injured from a tribe in Northern Columbia after an electrical storm broke out during an early morning ritual. The storm struck at around 3.a.m during a ritual of the Wiwa community's government in the Sierra Mountains. Bernardo Gil Moscote, a member of the community told the newspaper that villagers were gathered in a ceremonial hut to discuss problems the community was facing. He stepped out to get a drink when he heard thunder.
Even though this doesn't occur that much they should still take pre cautions about situations like this. The families will miss the ones who died in this incident and the ones who lived will always remember this. They should move the hut to a safer place or fix the electrical problems they're having.

I feel that the world needs to have a protocol for unsafe environments whether it be weather, invasions, etc
ReplyDeleteI don't believe you can take that many precautions for unexpected electrical storms such as this one. There way of living [housing] in this tribe is not as stable as our commonly known housing. Even still, in our communities we experience fires started by lightning strikes. Best wishes to the families.
