  On Thursday, the police detained five teenagers who are suspected of vandalizing 300 Jewish graves in France. The boys aged between 15 and 17 and were from eastern France. Authorities believe the main reason the crime was committed was an anti-Semitism motive. The youngest of the group came forward and assured that there was no motive of that kind, but failed to give an actual reason for such actions. Authorities have found that the group had no past criminal records and have no ideological convictions on their behavior.

 I believe that the statements from these group of boys were fabricated because such an immense destruction to so many graves, especially those who honored the fallen from the Holocaust, could not have possibly been a harmful prank. I believe this ties in with world history because it alludes to anti-semitism during the Holocaust. Although anti-semitism is not as common as it was during the time of the Holocaust, it still tragically exists today.
