Elle Holland Current Event #18

Quatar Airways claimed the new record for longest commercial flight in the world. The flight departed from Doha on sunday and landed in Auckland, New Zealand 17 and a half hours later. The CEO of Quatar Airways called the new Auckland service "an important milestone" in the airlines global expansion. Many airlines have been competing for this record and still continue to pouch the limits of air travel.

This long distance form of travel is a major advancement and this just shows how it is continuing to improve and grow and make it easier and faster to go anywhere you want to. Round-the- world flights like this one would have been considered impossible years ago and now it does not seem like a big deal to catch a flight.

  1. That's so cool, I hope one day I can experience a round trip flight to where ever I want!

  2. This is a cool accomplishment but I hope that I will never have to sit on a plane for 17 hours.
