The UN and Syria made a deal to allow certain civilians to leave the Old City section of Homs. 200 people were to be evacuated on friday to help put an end to violence and stopping Syrian blood from reaching terrorist groups' hands. In the last 3 years, the Syrian conflict has left millions dead and over 100,000 people dead. In this agreement, a cease-fire went into effect and citizens over 55 and under 15 will get on busses and leave the city if they promise not to take up firearms and fight about it. 83 people already have left as of friday and many more are expected to evacuate the area. The government will provide the necessary arrangements for these evacuees.
I think this needed to happen a long time ago, but at least it's happening.
I agree. Better late than never.
