Carbon Monoxide Leak by Anna Pickett

A carbon monoxide leak at a mall restaurant in Long Island, New York, cause the death of the manager. It also cause 26 others to need hospital treatment. A woman started feeling dizzy, so when the police came to investigate, they found out it was carbon monoxide. The leak was found in the flue pipe of the water heater. The restaurant did not have a carbon monoxide detector.
This is pretty scary. Two years ago, there was a carbon monoxide leak at my middle school. Luckily, people were only feeling nauseous and no one died or was seriously injured. Hopefully, more buildings will put up carbon monoxide detectors. They are probably as essential as smoke detectors, even though carbon monoxide leaks are not as frequent. My prayers go out to the family of the manager.

  1. This is terrible. Carbon Monoxide detectors are just as important if not more.

  2. There should probably be a safety law for carbon monoxide detectors.

  3. This is awful! Hopefully these occurrences will convince people to install carbon monoxide detectors to prevent further deaths like what happened in the Long Island restaurant. People need to take precautions regarding dangerous chemicals like this.
