Killer croc killed in Zambia by Josie
Summary: Zambia Wildlife Authority rangers have killed a man eating crocodile after it reportedly killed up to a dozen people. The villagers do not believe the rangers killed the right animal. Many villagers who wish to remain unnamed believe the man eating croc is actually what they call "icibokolo", and is going to continue killing. An "icibokolo" is a human that can change into an animal. Ms Muliyunda, a ZAWA spokesperson, disagrees. She said perpetuating such myths among Zambia's people would cause stigma, and villagers may single out suspects that they believe to be icibokolo, discriminating against them.
Analysis: This is kind of ridiculous. If there are no more killings happening, why can't they just believe it was the right crocodile? It's a shame that they have to make up a story and point fingers at people because they are so afraid. It's sort of like making up myths to get your kid to stay out of trouble or away from danger, when really they should be teaching them not to go in areas the crocodile has its habitat.

um thats weird.if they caught the crocodile, and theres no more apparent deaths, why do they have to blame someone else? thats really ridiculous and unreasonable but hopefully it is the right crocodile
ReplyDeleteWow this is ridiculous that people actually believe stories like this, I hope they stop this and realize that this is impossible.
