Bolivian Journalist Injured by Corsica Steding

Fernando Vidal (a radio personality) is currently in critical condition after an arson attack.  In the city of Yacuiba, four men entered a radio station and two got into the studio.  People who were listening to the radio show heard a gunshot.  Then the men poured gasoline on Fernando Vidal and his equipment, and lit him on fire.  Vidal survived, but is in critical condition due to his burns.  The other people escaped the studio through windows.  The next day three men were arrested trying to leave the country.  There was also a fourth suspect arrested.  The same day of the arson attack Vidal was interviewing two guests about smuggling in the border area.  That is why it is believed that they attacked Vidal to "shut him up".

Mariano Castillo wrote this article for CNN on November 1st.  Before reading this article I would never have been able to comprehend why someone would do this.  I still can't.  This article was written for anyone interested in what happened.  It is also to update people on the suspects they've found and motives that they think the men had.  It is very important that the people who did this didn't stop the radio show (it was back up in 24 hours) since that was their goal.
