Flooding in England Killed 1 Post by: Addison Norman

Flooding in England Killed 1

In southwestern England there has been four days of constant rain. This rain has followed months and months of rain making flooding conditions worse. Flood alerts were sent out by The UK Environment Agency to around 225 areas Sunday afternoon. The areas of the alerts stretched throughout southwestern England, up into some parts of Wales, and to Midlands region. In Cornwall, the Cober River’s water levels have gotten extremely high. Then in Exeter, a woman was hit when a tree got knocked down; the tree ended up killing her. The Prime Minister David Cameron made a post on twitter stating that his government would ensure help to the region hit by the flood. More rain is expected in the area and to northeastern parts of England.
It is crazy to see the great impact nature has on our world. With the U.S. just experiencing Hurricane Sandy and the flooding occurring in  England we are able to see how destructive nature can be. It is awful that the flooding has taken a life, but I do find interesting how Prime Minister David Cameron used social media to make a statement about the flooding. I hope that everyone stays safe; especially, with more rain that is expected to come in the area.
