Oil platform explodes in Gulf of Mexico; 11 injured, 2 missing - Jack VanGorden
On Friday, there was an explosion on an oil platform floating in the Gulf of Mexico. It injured at least 11 people. Rescue planes and helicopters were deployed to search for the two that are missing. The catastrophe occurred about 20 miles of the coast of Louisiana on a production platform and it spilled about 28 gallons of fuel in the area. According to officials, four of the injured were listed under critical condition. This incident proves that working in the oil business is dangerous and can be risky. The fatality rate for the job is 15.8 deaths per 10,000 employees. Most of these deaths are accidental but that doesn't make it any less tragic. I think that more safety precautions need to be taken to improve the overall safety of the platforms.

Mrs. Countryman,
ReplyDeleteI messed up and accidentally posted an article over Latin America. I have also created an article about Europe as well.
