Protesters in Ireland rally for abortion rights - Jack VanGorden
Thousands of protesters gathered in the streets of Dublin on Saturday to honor a woman who died after she was denied having an abortion. This led to the people of Ireland to demand a change in the country's laws. 31 year old, Savita Halappanavar checked into the hospital on October 21 complaining about severe back pain. At this time she was 17 weeks pregnant. After the doctor's examination they informed her that she was having a miscarriage but refused to give her an abortion. This led to her dying of septicemia or blood infection. The abortion laws in Ireland are strict and there are rarely any exceptions. Many want the government to abolish these restrictions but it is a work in progress. I don't understand why they wouldn't make an exception to the law if the woman was dying. I hope the law is altered so that there won't be any more tragedies.

This is such a sad story, I hope that they can modify the laws so that something like this cannot happen again.
