A new sport has risen from the ashes of frustrated Chess
Team nerds. No, this wasn't invented by nerds, but it sure would have done them
some good. I'm talking about Chessboxing. Yes. CHESS and BOXING. The rules are
simple. A tournament of 34 men begins. One-on-one the competitors test their
minds with a three minute round of chess. Then, they enter the ring for three
minutes. The cycle continues until one of the contestants knocks out the other
in the ring or check-mates the opposing players King.
I admire the sport because it must be difficult to think
with all of the punching and grabbing and pulling. That’s what makes this sport
so unique. Only men with great power of the mind and body can even think about
participating.
I have definitely never heard of that before!
ReplyDeleteInteresting. So not only do you have to be smart, but you have to be able to throw some punches. I wonder who created this odd mix of brain and brawn.
