Guatemala Earthquake by: Milan Hamilton

A 7.4 magnitude earthquake hit the coasts of Guatemala on Wednesday. 48 people died and there were at least 150 injuries. It is the strongest earthquake that has hit Guatemala since 1976. Multiple roads collapsed and many schools were destroyed. Luckily Guatemala's school year has ended so no children were inside the building during the earthquake. About 60,000 people are without power and some don't even have their homes anymore.

This article is very important. Since it happened so close to the United States, we need to be on alert so that if another one happens, we will be prepared. Also, we can do something to help those that lost their homes in the earthquake.

  1. That is just awful. I feel so bad for these people that have done nothing to deserve this horrible disaster. I just can't believe how many people have lost their homes. I agree with you, and I also hope that the U.S. does do something to help rebuild homes in Guatemala. That should be the least we could do to help these families, and especially the ones that have lost their families as well as their homes.
